Happy first birthday, Baby Genius!

Baby Addilyn is a toddler.

She toddles.

A miracle, I’ve been saying, because for the first year of her life, someone has usually been waiting in line for their turn to snuggle her.

She turned one year old on January 20.

Our baby genius is not so much a baby.

We celebrated with the entire family on January 26.

Next up: Mother’s Day

As you may know, I’m obsessed with pictures (primarily of my pup, Puggle… but my new baby niece is quickly taking the spotlight). A supplemental obsession is Shutterfly, a site I use regularly for my Christmas cards. They’ve updated their iPhone app, making it easier for me to load my Instagram pics into my Shutterfly account.

Which means… magic. I designed Mother’s Day cards for the special ladies in my life. This one is my sister’s:

So. Make a note: Mother’s Day is Sunday May 12. It’ll be here before we know it! A word to the wise: design your cards now (see Shutterfly’s selection of Mother’s Day cards here). And/or purchase your gifts now; stick both cards and gifts somewhere in your home or office or car; update your iPhone calendar with the exact location of said gift and also with the date you need to deliver or mail the items. Or is that just me?

Oh, and another reason to check out Shutterfly, if you’re not already a fan?  They constantly run fabulous promos and freebies. An example: through tomorrow, 4/2/13, get 101 free 4×6″ prints with code 101PRINTS. You’re welcome!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the ladies in my life. I’d be nowhere without you. (Note to self: MORE ON THIS LATER. FOR REAL THIS TIME.)

And – while this is not a Bible Thumpin’ blog (not that there’s anything wrong with that) I wanted to share this little bit ‘o scripture, which I came across this past weekend. I read part of Proverbs 31 at my Grandmother’s funeral – “Her children arise and call her blessed” – how beautiful is that?

Proverbs 31:10-12 and 25-31
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

abby.2.16.13 …what could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Puggle and I hung out with Abby and Emma on Saturday, and it was the best. time. ever. These two little humans are right at Puggle’s eye level, and they smell like food. Even better, they often HAVE food, in one form or another.

Here, Puggle waits patiently for Abby to drop a crumb or two. We took a bunch of pictures of our adventure and will share a few of them here.
